PreBerlin Post

Went to Berlin this weekend with Andrew, but I'm too lazy to edit the pictures right now and will instead give you a teaser post.

First - before going to Berlin, I just want to say I made delicious peanut sauce without a recipe or any idea how to make peanut sauce. Instructions:

Buy a jar of crunchy peanut butter
(preferably with an American flag on it, because that's how most of the peanut butter is sold here. That and white bread.)
Buy some cucumber.
Put some oil and salt in a frying pan, throw on some slices of cucumber
Eventually add some paprika and curry (who knows how much)
Wait... and ponder how adding a whole jar of peanut butter would taste
Add a whole jar of peanut butter
Think about how maybe it looks kind of dry
Add 1 cup of water, 1 cup of milk, and a lot of salt
More curry
It looks gross
Wait
Now it looks DELICOUS

So, follow that protocol exactly, and you'll have some delicious peanut sauce. Instead of water and salt though, probably use soy sauce. Since that's both salt and water in one container. And probably what people actually use to make peanut sauce. I made this for some of the other Heidelberg RISE students, while we also barbequed and made rice and grilled vegetables, and they also thought it was really good. So... there.

And, since I'm so artsy, here's a hipster pic to fill your hipster quota of the week:
